The part of photographing a wedding that requires the most organization is the group shot. Man I have seen some funny stuff go on! Separating out the groups in a timely, but respectful manner, and making a shot using lots of people flattering for everyone is tricky business.
Here are a few of my favorite group shots from recent shoots

And this last shot was at a traditional church white wedding in Gardena, CA recently and is really a classic group formal portrait. I want to be as unobtrusive as possible but still make sure that the couple’s wishes are followed with regard to the composition and who is actually in the photos. It requires me to be kinda forceful but still respectful.
And you know what? There’s always someone missing. Either gone off to the john or at the bar…Heh…You gotta tell if somone’s not here at the time people! I don’t always know who your Uncle Bertie is and if he’s meant to be in the shot or not. More about this in the FAQ page.
